The RF Planning and Deployment Engineer will work on multiple projects with different clients in the wireless industry supporting the planning and installation of sensors networks for different technologies (including 5G/IoT, LTE, UMTS), and working on different assignments and projects supporting including RF Design (RFDS), RF Optimization and Performance of sensors network.
Design and plan wireless radio path loss with different propagation modeling and prediction.
Assist in deployment and optimization of frequency Doppler and dynamic channel delay, delay spread, coherence bandwidth, noise and interference from other users and cells.
Perform RF planning, optimization with spatial variation fading, and spatial interference
Perform RF Database/Parameter Review and Audit, including optimization plans.
Conduct performance tuning and optimization of DGS sensor network for UMTS/LTE/5G overlay wireless network to reduce interference, and enhance traffic performance
Submit SLA KPIs to the customer and justify the performance of the network.
Perform RNC level statistical analysis and performance management.
Tune of new sites for sensor deployments
Use RF propagation and analysis software to create deployment and performance reports.
Optimize of parameters for new feature introduction.
Monitor and benchmarking RNC/NodeB upgrade/patch implementation.
Responsible primarily for the research, development, hands-on integration and evaluation of sensors on early-stage Wireless Radio Access Network (RAN) related infrastructure and products.
Collaborate with the Engineering and Product Development organizations, vendors, and standards and policy organizations.
Work with RF Transceiver and Subsystem design, link budget analysis and creating for sensor’s receiver front ends.
Analyze and select antennas for transceivers.
Provide support to multi-functional team of R&D, Program Management, Core Networking, RF Engineering, Transport and Technical/Training Support to fulfill multi-technology wireless network deployment across customer markets
Optimize site/cluster performance and resolve trouble tickets through reports, tools, scanner and drive test analysis
Complete propagation (Planet, Tornado, Wizard, Odyssey, dB Planner, etc.) for model calibration, drive test data post-processing, map generation, frequency planning and interference matrix analysis, site database maintenance, etc
Work with the Implementation and Operations Teams on the cell site’s antenna and RF equipment configuration and database parameters
Present ideas, technical and non-technical, in a logical, compelling manner in a written format and verbally
BS degree in Electrical Engineering, prefer MS degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent program).
5 to 10 years of experience on Hands-on experience with RF planning and RF deployment and optimization on large wireless access network.
Working experience with RF planning and design tools (i.e. Infovista Planet) for channel simulation and emulation to mimic 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G and 5GNR at sub 6 GHz and mmWaves
Detailed knowledge of 4G and 5G protocol stack.
Familiarity with in MIMO, mMIMO, and beam forming algorithm
Familiarity with directional antennas and antenna arrays, cascaded signal chain analysis, bias circuit design
Strong fundamental understanding of Rayleigh, Ricean, Nakagami and Weibull distributions along with experience on diversity and combining schemes.
Experience with co-channel and adjacent channel interference, additive and multiplicative noise.
Strong technology expertise, proven leadership skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, superb technical skills, and strong customer-service orientations.
Operational experience of RF Design focusing on traffic engineering.
Proven hands-on expertise in setup and configuration of LTE networks (RAN and Core) with a major equipment vendors and service providers.
Able to lead troubleshooting field issues and guide others in debugging field problems.
Thorough hands-on knowledge of LTE small cells, CBRS FW, mMIMO and familiar with 5G architecture, with a clear track record of excellence managing wireless access engineering systems.
Advanced hands on experience with UE acceptance criteria and SIM development.
Strong technology expertise, proven leadership skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, superb technical skills, and a strong customer-service orientation. Ability to communicate with all levels of management
